Udo Erasmus is an international authority on fats, oils, cholesterol and human health. Udo received his Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Zoology with In 1980, his life took a significant turn when he was poisoned by pesticides. When conventional medicine was unable to provide help, he concluded that his health was his own responsibility and turned his attention to nutrition. Several years of research culminated in his Canadian best-selling book, Fats that Heal Fats that Kill, which earned him a Ph.D. in nutrition. In 1983, he began to pioneer technology for pressing and packaging edible, fresh oils made with health in mind, by excluding three main factors that can transform nutritious oils into toxic ones – light, heat and oxygen. Until that time, oils were highly processed by destructive methods, sacrificing health benefits in order to attain longer shelf life. Over the past two decades, Udo has appeared on nationally syndicated radio and television shows and has given thousands of media interviews and seminars, educating audiences across the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia on the essential components of good health. He has recently published a guide entitled Choosing the Right Fats, and continues to research nutrition and health for his next book. Udo also maintains an educational website at www.udoerasmus.com. As a result of Udo’s efforts, there are high quality, unrefined flax oils and other important seed oils found in refrigerators in health food stores and in health-minded practitioners' dispensaries around the world. Udo's contribution to the fields of health and nutrition, along with his pioneering work to establish standards of quality for oil manufacture will continue to benefit humanity for decades to come.![]() Anthony L.
